Virtual Coaching

Technology has given me the opportunity to work with you wherever you are. If you have some exercise equipment and it just collects dust or hangs your line dry laundry items, this might be for you! You see, most of us know you should and may even want to exercise, but don’t stick to it regularly or get burned out easily. That’s where I come in. I’ll provide the accountability of an appointment and help keep your workouts fresh by progressing you instead of doing the same things all the time.

I may not physically be in the room with you, but I can still tell you how to do an exercise, show you how to do it, show you the common mistakes, show you how to do it again correctly, then watch you do it. I have over 10 years experience coaching people in person, so I have gotten pretty good with verbal cueing and don’t need to physically touch you to get you in the right position. I also know how to swap exercises on the fly. Let’s say your shoulder is cranky and doesn’t like to Bench Press. Well maybe we can swap that for a Dumbbell Bench Press with a neutral grip at the bottom of the movement? Or one day you logon for our session and your low back is sore from raking leaves, maybe deadlifts are out but you can do a hip thrust, sparing your low back.

Here’s how it works:

  • Virtual training is conducted on Zoom or FaceTime at mutually agreed upon times. You can live anywhere in the United States and we can work together, just know that I am on Central Time!
  • I will send you New Client Intake, Waiver, and Policies & Expectations forms via Google Forms. Fill them out on your computer or phone and submit them electronically.
  • Schedule your free strategy session where we will talk about the questions in the New Client Intake, take you through a Functional Movement Screen, and discuss how to set you up for success!
  • I have options to train one, two, or three days per week. We’ll discuss what works best for you. If once per week is the best option for you, I will include homework workouts with video links so you can get at least two workouts in per week. I use Google Sheets for my workout spreadsheets.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need any equipment?

Yes! You don’t need much equipment to get started. I can certainly help point you in the right direction for some of the basics to start building your home gym if you don’t have one yet. A suspension trainer, adjustable dumbbells, a bench, and all-purpose resistance bands are a great start.

What’s the best way to set-up a camera?

The best way for me to see you doing your exercises is to set-up a laptop on something about counter height and 6-8 feet away from where you will be doing your exercises. Cellphones and tablets work as well, but unless you have some kind of stand, the only view I can see is your ceiling or the floor when your cellphone falls over. The best view for most exercises if usually at a right angle so I can see your spinal posture better than looking straight the front of you.

What does Virtual Training cost?

The minimum investment is $300 per month to train live once per week and get homework workouts. It is recommend that you commit to at least 6 months to see great results. I don’t believe in quick fixes or 6 week 6-packs.

Can my spouse/partner train with me?

Yes! If you have similar goals and enough equipment, we can make it happen.

What is the cancellation policy for my sessions?

I need 24 hrs notice if you need to change your time or day that you are training. If I do not get enough notice, I reserve the right to charge you at the rate of one session. You can avoid being charged if we can reschedule that week at a mutually agreed upon time. I do this for two reasons, it is another form of accountability and I need to make a living.
